About: Boston is getting an opportunity to experience a new art form that allows visual worlds to be created with the type of total spontaneous control previously enjoyed only by audio musicians. On weekends between March 31 and May 25, visual musician Bill Sebastian will be giving his first public shows since his legendary performances with the Sun Ra Arkestra over 35 years ago.
Each person attending the performances will be equipped with a 3D headset that allows them to be transported to the magical worlds. The audio for the sessions will vary from pre-recorded compositions to live ensembles - see the calendar below for the plans for each evening.
Show times: 8pm and 10pm Friday/Saturday; 7pm and 9pm Sunday.
Location: Visual Music Systems studio, 80 Summer St., Boston, 2nd floor.
Fine print: The typical show format features 2 sets, each about 20 minutes long with a short intermission in between, followed by a reception that provides an opportunity to meet the artists.
